My college roommate and former bandmate (The Fifty Mission Crush), Patrick makes beautiful music worth listening to. My favorite song of his (at the moment) is Like Origami. He lives in France which is inconvenient for me, but convenient for his French wife.

Keith is a fantastic bass player and music producer. He helped immeasurably with The Devil is Defeated and in the blossoming career that is the Adam Kurtz Band & Experience. While he may seem unapproachable, if you talk real gentle, he will from time to time understand what you say; if he blinks twice and smiles, it means: "yes, you can buy him a beer at this time."
Veterans of the Portland scene, Loverless used to blow our minds when we got to open for them at the Big Easy, in the Kino Proby days. They just released a kick ass album about a dude who was struck by lightning seven times. Find it. Special hat tip to Loverless lead singer/guitarist Elijah who plays acoustic guitar in the AKB. Also to Michael who said he'll help me learn to fly.
A really great, rockin local band, in the Jeff Buckley meets John Lennon but still alive sense. They hosted an amazing late July booze cruise through Casco Bay last summer, and it rocked. Check 'em out. Another hat tip to drummer Chuck who plays in the AKB as well!
One of my favorite local bands. My funny 'An Evening With' story: I was checking out past work of a mixing engineer I ended up working with on the Someday Driver EP, and he played me songs he was working on. Bunch of local stuff. Then he played these guys, and I said - wait, hold on, who are these guys? He explained. I said, man, I gotta see them next time they play out! The very next day I saw a show at SPACE and An Evening With opened. True story! Though it might have been a few days later. Same week though, I promise ya that! They have an album coming out shortly so check for it!
Roy is a brother of the Maine scene and makes great alt-country rock. He just put out a new album, and it's worth digging on, so go dig on it.
